Things to carry in Himachal Pradesh Trip

Important Documents: Carry all essential documents including IDs, travel insurance, and medical papers at all times.

Clothing: Layered warm clothing is essential as weather changes quickly in the valley.

Footwear: Waterproof boots are highly recommended for snow and rocky terrain. Lightweight shoes work at campsites.

Medicines: Carry basic high-altitude meds like Diamox, Camphor, Paracetamol, Digene, and Eno.

Cash (according to your needs): Network coverage is poor. Always carry sufficient cash.

Power Bank: Electricity may be limited, so keep backup charging options.

Navigation Equipment: Compass, offline maps, or GPS are recommended in remote routes.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Amritsar | Visit Wagah Border

Upon your arrival in Amritsar, meet our representative who will help you with your transfers to the hotel.

Check in and rest for some time.

In the evening, proceed to the Wagah Border to attend the Beating Retreat Ceremony performed by the Indian and Pakistani Army.

After watching the ceremony, return to your hotel.

Overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 2 – Amritsar Sightseeing | Transfer to Dalhousie

Post breakfast, get ready for a wonderful day of sightseeing in Amritsar.

Visit the sacred Golden Temple followed by Durgiana Temple, known for its similar architecture.

Pay homage at the Jallianwala Bagh memorial.

Explore the vibrant Hall Bazaar for traditional Punjabi handicrafts and souvenirs.

In the evening, drive to Dalhousie. On arrival, check in at the hotel.

Overnight stay in Dalhousie.

Day 3 – Excursion to Khajjiar “Mini Switzerland of India”

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Khajjiar.

En route, stop at Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its dense forest and scenic views.

Enjoy the serene landscape of Khajjiar, recognized by the Swiss government as “Mini Switzerland of India”.

Later, visit Chamba, a picturesque town with lush meadows and lakes.

After a full-day excursion, return to Dalhousie.

Day 4 – Dalhousie to Dharamshala | Visit Bhagsunag Falls

After breakfast, start your journey towards Dharamshala, also known as “Little Lhasa”.

On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax for a while.

Visit the ancient Bhagsunag Temple and the nearby Bhagsunag Waterfall.

Later, explore the scenic Naddi Village and visit Tibetan monasteries and the local market.

Return to your hotel in the evening.

Overnight stay in Dharamshala.

Day 5 – Dharamshala Local Sightseeing | Visit Brajeshwari & Chamunda Devi Temple

Post breakfast, proceed for a local sightseeing tour around Dharamshala.

Visit the famous Brajeshwari Temple and Chamunda Devi Temple in Kangra.

Later, drive back to Dharamshala and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight stay in Dharamshala.

Day 6 – Dharamshala to Amritsar | Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start your return journey to Amritsar.

Enjoy the scenic drive through the mountains.

Get dropped off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey.

Things To Pack


  • Good quality rucksack (preferably 40–60 liters) & a small day bag pack (for hikes/treks purpose) with rain-cover is recommended, easy to carry trolley bag.
  • A pair of shoes (mainly trekking/sports) with good grip & waterproof, at least 2 pairs of socks & floaters/sandals/slippers.
  • Heavy down jacket, light fleece, long track/cargo pants, long/short sleeves T-shirts, body thermal wears (as per season), sun cap/hat, woolen cap & gloves (as per season), hoodie, raincoats/ponchos.
  • Personal care items like cold cream & moisturiser, sunscreen (preferably SPF40), lip balm, sanitary pads, toothpaste & other toiletries, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, body spray.
  • Personal medication (as prescribed by the doctor) & first-aid, sprain relief spray, glucose powder, tablets for headache, fever, diarrhea, motion sickness, dettol & cotton/bandages.
  • Personal documents & ID's like aadhar card, drivers license, passport or any other valid Government ID proofs.
